Jack Kirby's Cosmic Theology

David Wolkin is a jerkface but do not hold that against him.  I knew him through the Jewish community in New York back when I lived there but we didn’t really get to know each other until summer of 2005.  We both ran into each other in the middle of the night, the two of us headed for the one bathroom in my Brooklyn duplex.  We talked about Matt Fraction’s work on Iron Fist and how much we were both enjoying it and so began a friendship full of sniping and pettiness and comics. 

But in all seriousness, David is admirable because he has found numerous ways to not only express his personal and professional passions but has found ways to merge them as well.  The most recent example of this is his incredibly thoughtful write-up about Jack Kirby’s cosmic theology for Comics Alliance.  My one main criticism of course being that once again he does not thank me for introducing him to all his buddies on the comics internet, but I guess all true heroic gestures are never recognized in their own time.
